I love this cooker! I've used it 4 times in the last week and used one of the pots on the stove today for a fast cooking soup. Great for rice, quinoa, and stew. Won't burn anything and keeps food warm for hours.
I am a Thermos cooker repeater. I already own the 4500 model. Have been trying to find this model for months. It is not available in U.S.A, (why, I don't know) As soon as I found this website, I placed my order. If you like the idea of slow cookers, but don't like the texture of the food they produce, you are in for a wonderful surprise. These cookers are brainless in the ease of cooking, but develop wonderful flavor without losing the texture of your food. Potatoes are cooked without turning to mush. Vegs are bright and hold their shape. Meat is tender without getting stringy. I have made steel cut oatmeal, rice, chili, stews, soups and puddings. If I want to roast something, I brown my meat and put into an oven bag and seal, then fill pot with water. I'm not sure how long the heat will last, but I have had stews on for 12 hours and it was too hot without blowing on it. I put my oatmeal on before bed, and it's still hot for breakfast. We travel a lot, but I like to use these pots in my kitchen also. I use the interior pots on my gas stove and also on my portable induction stove top. Works great!!
