Breville the Tea Maker BTM800XL

For the perfectly balanced brew, different teas need to be steeped at different temperatures and for different times. So how do you get it right?

The new Breville Tea Maker is a revolutionary tea experience. The motorized basket  automatically lowers tea leaves then up, gently agitating the leaves to precisely infuse your tea. Push the basket button and watch the basket cycle in and out of immersion. Seeing is believing.

Different tea such as Black, Green, White, and Oolong require exact water temperatures and controlled brew times to allow their unique flavors and aromas to develop during brewing. The Tea Maker eliminates the guesswork so you can enjoy a perfect cup of tea, every time.

Fully programmable for all types of tea, water temperatures, and steep times. The moving tea basket allows water to circulate freely around the individual tea leaves for maximum infusion. Set the timer and wake up to the aroma of your favorite brew. The German-made Schott glass kettle is durable and stain resistant.

Relaxation - from start to finish.

    Best Present Ever!

Posted by Sandra on 4th May 2018

I bought this in 2015 as a gift for my husband. I was a little hesitant due to the price, and some reviews I had read about it dying after about a year. I took the plunge, and my husband loved it!! Success!

Ok, so after about a year and a half in, the tea maker randomly started acting up. I would put the kettle on the base and it would click like it does when the screen turns on to select ur tea type, but then it would click again and everything would go dark. Then I'd pick it up and try again, same. Frustrated, I started shopping around for replacement bases vs the whole tea maker. My husband decided to see if he could fix glad he did. He spent all of 5 mins (if that) looking at it before he found the issue. I'll explain as best I can in case anyone reading comes across this problem. It's a ridiculously simple fix and happens due to reasons most wouldn't even think were the cause. The main cause for my issue, was putting the kettle on the base and turning it, whether to reach the handle better or whatever. Do not do this! If u don't like the position of the kettle, pick it up off the base and set it down how u want it. When u turn it on the base, it pushes the little elements (connections) inside the base, down and under the ring. They get caught under the ring and can't provide enough power to fully run the kettle (hence it clicking on then off again). My husband immediately noticed that one of the elements was positioned different to the others, so he unplugged the base (**always unplug before doing this**), and used the tip of a knife to gently release the caught element from under the ring. It popped up into place quite easily, no need to pry anything, and the kettle did its thing again. Once in a while, the kettle gets bumped and turns on its base and we have to pop up an element, but so far, we're at 3yrs with this, making a minimum of 2 pots a day (one for thermos for his work day and the other for his evening cups) and it works beautifully. I always wonder if those that mentioned having their maker die so early, had maybe experienced the same issue. I guess I'll never know, but figured I'd share our experience and hopefully it'll help someone else who comes across this issue.

Take the plunge, u won't regret it!
